However, Westminster Abbey told the Daily Express that Harry and Meghan could wed at the Abbey, despite it being Meghan's second wedding.
A spokesman said: "The Abbey follows the General Synod Ruling of 2002. Since then it has been possible for divorced people to be married in the Church of England.”
According to The Sun, other wedding venue possibilities include St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh – with a wedding reception at the Palace of Holyrood, the Queen's official Scottish residence – and Crathie Kirk near Balmoral.
St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham, Norfolk, is also a possibility.
