Indian 13-Year-Old Rape Victim’S Baby Dies Two Days After Doctors Defied Court Order By Delivering Him

The baby of a 13-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by her father's colleague, has died two days after doctors in Mumbai delivered him despite a court order stating the pregnancy should be terminated....
The rape victim was 32 weeks pregnant at the time of the court order, and this is beyond India's 20-week legal limit after which terminations are only allowed where there is a danger to the life of the mother or the baby.

In view of the trauma she suffered, the Indian supreme court ordered that the victim can be allowed to terminate the pregnancy. However, some doctors took a call to save the foetus by performing a caesarean section.

Having spent two days in a neonatal intensive care unit, the baby has now passed away. It was also set to be put up for adoption.
