The Minister made this commendation at the Guardian Newspaper Power Summit 2017 which took place in Lagos and enumerated other measures and strategies of the current administration in ensuring incremental power supply to Nigerians. “Let me tell you Magboro have not had light in 17 years, the community has been connected now , the man who did it is here ,Chiedu stand up for recognition, I think you  need to applaud him, take a bow” he stated.
In a related development, at the 19th Monthly  Power Sector Operators’ Meeting  in Lagos on Monday, the Minister said efforts were on in addressing the payment of debts owed the power sector by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), and legacy debts inherited from the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), and power supply growth.
The operators agreed to encourage the promotion of true story of hope in the sector, based on ongoing projects and efforts to improve the power sector, as well as limiting inaccurate and alarmist comments in the media about the power sector.
The MD/CEO, Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Mr. Chiedu Ugbo, gave a progress report on projects at Ugwuaji, Egbema, Okija, Omotosho and Olorunsogo host communities, expected to be completed by December this year.
