IN a bid to ensure safety and peace in Uzouwani Local
Government Area, Enugu State, the Police command, has vowed to sustain the
onslaught against crime and criminality at Adani and Nimbo with a view to
stamping them out...
In a statement issued to pressmen in Enugu by Police Public
Relation Officer, Ebere Amaraizu, the command said it would not leave any stone
unturned as significant progress had been made with the raiding of identified
notorious criminal hideout known as Malaysia Forest and arrest of notorious
armed robbery suspects. He added that the command through intelligence gathered
last week arrested two notorious kingpins, Jonathan Okeagu and Simon Enejere,
who had been on the wanted list of the command with stolen motorcycle and Tiger
plants. “Enugu State command of the Nigeria Police Force through its operatives
are making significant progress in the ongoing onslaught against criminal
elements within Nimbo/Adani axis of Uzouwani Local Government Area of Enugu
state with the earlier raiding of notorious Malaysia Forest and arrest of some
notorious armed robbery, kidnapping and murder suspects. “A full scale
investigation has commenced into the alleged nefarious activities as the state
command has vowed to sustain the tempo of the onslaught against criminal
elements within the axis and its environs,” he said. “The command operatives
through intelligence information over the past weekend,nabbed another two
notorious and deadly suspected Kidnap/cult group kingpins who have been on the
wanted list of the commands operatives over their nefarious activities.
“Suspects who gave their names as one Jonathan Okeagu and Simon Enejere all of
Umuasa Village Ugbene Ajima of Uzouwani Local Government Area of Enugu state
were nabbed by operatives at Nimbo with two suspected stolen motorcycles/Tiger
Generator”, The statement concluded. Amarizu disclosed that the suspect
Jonathan Okeagu have been convicted some time ago because of his criminal
activities in the area. “The suspect Jonathan Okeagu was arrested and charged to
court and later remanded in prison custody for various offences ranging from
cult related issues and other vices and for having serious links with suspected
kidnappers within the area and its environs,” He said.
