Benin, Mr. Abubakar Muhammed,
has directed Commissioners of Police in the zone to adopt robust
crime-prevention strategies throughout the ember months. He also directed the
Police Commissioners in the zone, which include Beyelsa, Delta and Edo states,
to ensure community policing and partnership to ensure that crime and
criminality are reduced to the barest minimum in line with democratic policing.
The AIG, in a statement by Mr. Emeka Iheanacho, Zone 5 Police Public Relations Officer,
in Benin, the Edo State capital, expressed gratitude to the public and its
strategic partners in crime prevention and control for their continued support.
He charged the Commissioners to ensure a hitch-free Sallah in the zone by
beefing up securities in and around their commands, mostly at worship centres
such as Churches and Mosques, recreation centres, cinema halls, radio and
television stations as well as linking roads and vulnerable flashpoints
