What’s new?Spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Week..On Fow24news.com

From the first day, the fans of high sewing art are expected by innovations. For many seasons, the Week has been opened by the Italian fashion house Versace.

However, this time the marathon will start with a debut couture show of guest designer Maison Rabih Kayrouz. The shows of Lebanese designer are known for eccentricity. For example, as part of Prêt-à-porter Fashion Week, Kayrouz made a ballet performance where the designers’ creations were demonstrated by the ballerinas of the Paris Opera instead of professional models. How far will the Lebanese’s fantasy go this time – one can only guess.

Apart from Maison Rabih Kayrouze, as new guests of the Week the Haute Couture Syndicate has invited five other brands, including Antonio Grimaldi, Galia Lahav, Georges Hobeika, Hyun Mi Nielsen, and Xuan. For each of the fashion houses this is a chance to enter the official schedule in the future.

So, for instance, the fashion calendar includes the guests of the last season: Aouadi, Francesco Scognamiglio, Guo Pei, Iris Van Herpen, Vetements, Yuima Nakazato, and others.

Some brands, including Givency, also put a curtain of secret on the couture collection of the season: Riccardo Tisci chose a closed presentation format which can be visited only by prior appointment.

The second exit of Demna Gvasalia and Vetements at the Haute Couture Week promises to be bright and memorable. Fan of eccentricity, Gvasalia will present not only the couture line but also the combined male and female collections.

Ancient French fashion house Schiaparelly and the young Julien Fournie can receive congratulations: both brands have got the status of permanent members for the Haute Couture Syndicate.

Let’s remember that to date the prestigious status has been owned only by 15 fashion houses, including Christian Dior, Chanel, Giambattisra Valli, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, Maison Martin Margiela, and others, who strictly adhere to all the stringent requirements of the Syndicate.
