Nyongo's conveys Raila message to Nyanza people over Supreme Court jury

Prof Nyong'o disclosed that National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga, who did not attend the funeral, sent him to tell the people of Nyanza that "the world will not come to an end today" in reference to today's presidential election results ruling.
The governor urged Nyanza residents to go to various churches and pray as they await the Supreme Court verdict. "Go to church and pray. If you are a Muslim, go to the mosque and if you are a Hindu, go to the temple and pray. But tomorrow (September 1), the world is not coming to an end," he said. "Whatever happens today, we are all winners. In Luo, we say a soldier lives to fight another battle," added Nyong'o, as the crowd went silent. Then he went on to display a T-shirt with the words "Luo lives matter" printed on it. "We are expecting the police not to take away any life of a Luo just because of their political orientation," he said to the amusement of the huge crowd that was calm and keenly listening as different leaders eulogised Ms Ouko. "We have printed T-shirts to show that Luo lives matter. And as such, no Luo should be killed, subdued or tortured because of their political stand," the governor said amid thunderous applause. Security meeting Nyong'o said the NASA leadership had held a county security meeting chaired by Commissioner Maalim Mohammed and resolved that no lives should be lost in demonstrations.
The relationship between the county, regarded as a political hot spot, and security agencies has not been good. The leaders expressed concern over the brute force used by police on demonstrators. Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed, Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju and former Wiper Democratic Movement chairman David Musila attended the burial. Amina conveyed a condolence message from President Uhuru Kenyatta. In his message, Uhuru mourned the late Ouko's widow as a woman of great intellect, compassion and resilience.
