In Osun-Court remand woman,37 In Prison Over Alleged Fraud Of N 5.2m

The accused is facing a five-count charge on fraud and theft.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Olubukola Olowolagba, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody due to the magnitude of the offence committed.
Earlier, the state prosecutor, Mr Abiodun Badiora informed the court that the accused committed the offense on June 1st, 2017 at about 8:00 a.m at Wolid International Limited building, Fakunle area in Osogbo.
He explained that the accused allegedly defrauded Wolid International limited the sum of N5.2 million which was kept at her position.
Badiora further explained that the accused attempted to set the building belonging to Wolid International service ablaze with intent to deceive the complainant that the money got burnt inside her office.
He said the offence committed contravened sections 443(a), 390(9), and section 1(1)(a) punishable under section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Faud Related Offences Act 2006 and the criminal code cap 34 vol.11 laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused pleaded not guilty of the five count charge preferred against her.
The counsel to the accused, Mr Abdulfatai Abdulsalam urged the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, however, turned down the bail application by the defense counsel pending her ruling for the bail application on the next date of adjournment on October 5, 2017.
