You must therefore be not only current, but even a step forward, projected to the future, in order to offer women clothes a moment before they desire them.”THE SCENE:
Scervino is approaching national treasure status in Italy. The brand owns multiple factories in the hills outside Florence, employs 300 people in its headquarters and has been partly responsible for rebooting the ‘Made In Italy’ stamp. The scene outside the venue, Palazzo Serbelloni, was accordingly swamped with camera-armed fans looking to snap Milan’s well-heeled on their way into the show.
THE COLLECTION:
Scervino went feminine, and then some. Ostensibly a tribute to the slip dress, the collection souped up its simple charms, decorating spaghetti-strapped duchesse satin creations with wisteria flowers of lacework, sprays of plisse and lovingly-layered beading. Add to that tulle gloves, delicate sheer knits and neat little belts pulling everything in at the waist, and you have everything an Italian First Lady needs to score fashion points on the world stage.
