Uchendu, who is of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had defeated Senator George Sekibo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the appeal court, in August, this year.
With his swearing in, APC now controls 66 seats, PDP 42. The seat of Anambra Central is still vacant.
So far, APC has two senators from Rivers State, including Senator Magnus Abe of Rivers South East.
