Kowalska has a keen knack for analogizing the depths of the psyche in her designs and the styling of her shows. Once again that idea came to the fore in dense, across-the-board layering: transparent skirts over trousers, or opaque ones atop lace leggings. Proportion play, too, was strong. Take a fitted scarlet pointelle cardigan and matching leggings, as teamed with an ultra-boxy, quilted chocolate brown jacket or the designer’s giant, knee-skimming peachy hoodie. Elsewhere was a bib-front dress in a gorgeous printed kelly green lace, which, as Kowalska pointed out, almost resembled sequins from afar.
