836 illegal license plates destroyed in NW China

As many as 836 illegal license plates were destroyed Wednesday by police in Lanzhou, Gansu Province.....

Fake plates, license plates on cars that don't match with the originally registered car, expired plates, etc. are all now analyzed by a new program after cameras photograph the plates on the road. 

The new system can report real-time the information of suspicious vehicles to the police.
At the time of this report, 2,733 vehicles that were caught via the system have been reported since the system was implemented early this year.
