Another attack has taken place in Europe, perpetrated by a man suspected of having been inspired by Islamist terrorists.

The attack on London's Westminster, left four victims dead as well as the perpetrator, according to The Guardian. At least 30 people were injured. Seven remain hospitalized in critical condition.
And of course, as has become the typical pattern, many have come out in force to blame Muslims collectively for the actions of a very few, even before details are made clear. Some have even targeted London's Muslim mayor, Sadiq Khan, suggesting his stance allowed for such an attack to happen.
In reality, Khan and the UK's many other Muslims are appalled by the attack along with the rest of the country. For centuries, Muslims have been contributing to British culture and society, making the kingdom into the powerful nation it is today.
Here's a look at the Muslims making the UK great.

1. Sadiq Khan, London's mayor

In 2016, Sadiq Khan became London's first-ever Muslim mayor. The very popular politician has stood as a prominent voice of reason against xenophobia in the country.
As the leader of one of the world's most powerful cities, Khan is also one of the most influential Muslims in the world.

2. Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, MP

The Guardian listed Baroness Sayeeda Warsi as Britain's most powerful Muslim woman in 2009. 
Currently, Warsi, a politician, lawyer and professor, is a member of the UK's House of Lords. She formerly served as the Senior Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Office and as the Minister of State for Faith and Communities.

3. Mehdi Hasan, political journalist

Mehdi Hasan hosts the Al Jazeera English shows The Café, Head to Head and UpFront. 
He is also a published author and the political editor of the Huffington Post's UK version.

4. Shelina Janmohamed, writer

Working in advertising and as a writer, Shelina Janmohamed is a vice-president at Ogilvy Noor. She's also the author of two books, Generation M: Young Muslims Changing the World and Love in a Headscarf.
She has been listed among the UK's 100 most influential women. 

5. Zayn Malik, singer

Who doesn't know Zayn Malik? The former member of One Direction has proudly claimed his Muslim heritage on more than one occasion.
Since leaving One Direction, he's had numerous hit singles that spent weeks on UK and international top charts.

6. Mariah Idrissi, model and public speaker

Mariah Idrissi shot to international fame after she appeared in H&M's Close the Loop campaign in 2015. She has been called the first Muslim model to wear a hijab in a major fashion campaign.
Since her debut, she has been signed with a major modeling agency. 
"I want to bridge that gap between east and west," she told MailOnline.

7. Amjad Hussain, naval officer

Serving as a senior Royal Navy officer, Amjad Hussain is the highest-ranking member of the British Armed Forces from an ethnic minority. He currently holds the rank of rear-admiral and has won the Companion of the Order of the Bath award. 

8. Mishal Husain, news presenter

Mishal Husain works as leading presenter for the BBC. She appears on Today, BBC World News and BBC Weekend News and previously presented for HARDtalk and BBC Breakfast. 
She was also listed among Britain's most powerful Muslim woman in 2009 by The Guardian.

9. Muhbeen Hussain, activist

As the founder and chairperson of British Muslim Youth, Muhbeen Hussain promotes tolerance and understanding for British Muslims.
His Twitter profile says: "Being British and being Muslim is one in the same."

10. Dina Tokio, influencer and fashion icon

With modest fashion being the latest trend on the rise, Dina Tokio has become a prominent social media influencer. Her fashion-focused posts on Instagram, Twitter and other platforms make her a true icon to follow.
