Ihedioha: It’s A Sin To Support Bad Governance

Emeka Ihedioha, governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has advised Nigerians not to condone evil government at any level....
Ihedioha, who asked Nigerians to be patriotic in their choice of leaders, said it is sinful to elect bad leaders.
“When we support bad governance it is a sin. If you love your neighbour all that will matter to you is how to enthrone good government,” the former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives stated this yesterday, at The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries (TLCCRM), four-day crusade at the Lord’s Chosen Int’l Secondary School, Mgbidi, Imo State.
Stressing that governance should be for the welfare of the masses and not for self aggrandisement, he said his vision for Imo State is: “To rebuild our state, to make it a better state. Nigerians should faithful, and work hard, be very confident and do everything you can to vote out a bad government; and vote in a government of our desire.”
Recalling how he won the highest number of votes in the 2015 governorship election in Imo State but missed out due to his mistakes, he expressed confidence that he is contesting again because he has corrected his mistakes.
“Then I was careless but now I have corrected those mistakes. Indications then showed that I won the 2015 governorship election. I believe God is on our side and he loves Imo; God will forgive us our sins and liberate our people,” he stated.
He said: “When I become the governor of Imo State, I will make my people appreciate the relevance of good governance and that indeed government should be collective responsibility.
“Under my watch as former Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives, when I was chairman of Committee on Transport and Chief Whip of House of Representatives, I attracted more federal presence to Imo State than any other person up till date.”
“The projects are there, federal government was building jetty right here in Oguta, the dualisation of Owerri Elele Rad, Airport Road.”
On why he came to the Lord’s Chosen Crusade ground, Ihedioha said: “It is a privilege , l am happy that this crusade that is annual brings together millions of people in our state to pray to Almighty God, to give us yet opportunities and better Christians and we pray that 2019 will be a year of salvation, forgiveness of sin, liberation and rebuilding of our state.”
Speaking on why Christians don’t fulfill promises when they get into politics, the former Deputy Speaker noted: “I was Deputy Speaker of the federation and left my foot prints in the sands of time. I have been a Christian and never deviated. That did not affect my attitude and conduct and it will not. When I become the Governor of Imo State I will fulfill my promises to Imo people. You should be optimistic and not pessimistic.”
Other governorship aspirants who visited the Lord’s Chosen ground include Dr. Linus Okorie of Young Progressives Party (YPP) and Sir Okechukwu Eze of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
