Birmingham Crash Victim Kasar Jehangir Jailed Over Police Chase

One of the six victims of a multi-car fatal crash in Birmingham had served a prison sentence over a 130mph police pursuit.....

Kasar Jehangir, 25, was jailed for three years for dangerous driving and possession with intent to supply in November 2016.

Jehangir was one of two men who threw heroin from an Audi while being pursued by police on the M6 in 2016.

He was released earlier in 2017 and was under probation service supervision.

Mr Jehangir is thought to have been killed while travelling in an Audi with Tauqeer Hussain, 26, and Mohammed Fasha, 30, who also died. A fourth man, aged 22, was seriously injured.

The car was in a crash with a taxi on Lee Bank Middleway, near the city centre, on Sunday.

Taxi driver Imtiaz Mohammed, a man aged 42 and a woman, 43, died after the vehicle was smashed on its side.

Mr Mohammed, 33, described by relatives as a "happy, loving and friendly guy", was on his last job before heading home to his wife and family, according to his brother.

The family of Mr Mohammed, who had five daughters and one son, said his death came the day before his daughter's fourth birthday.

West Midlands Police said all victims were from the Birmingham area and specialist officers were supporting their families.

Any witnesses have been asked to contact West Midlands Police.
