Swedes are good at working collaboratively, as was demonstrated at Stockholm Fashion Week today when 12 final-year design students at Beckmans School of Design presented collections developed in concert with six Nordic brands....
new this year was the participation of mentoring designers from outside of Sweden, including 2ndday from Denmark and Marimekko from Finland.

Developed with guidance, the looks that walked down the runway represented the individual talents of the student designers. Several themes emerged throughout, however. Asymmetry appeared in many collections, and homage was paid more than once to Vetements and the brand’s outsized proportions. Alecsander Rothschild, who worked with Hope, showed the most dramatic looks in the bunch, wrapping the heads of his models in pirate fashion. Disa Gadd, mentored by Oscar Jacobson, made interesting use of tucking and proportion, while the red, black, and white jacket Angelica Eichler created in conjunction with Marimekko was a head-turner.
